Today’s Collaboration
As technology around us improves, it has the opportunity to improve various aspects of our lives. One such area that has seen an explosion in growth in recent years is our ability to collaborate with those around us in ways previously unimagined. For the “net generation” who have grown up with the internet, these new collaboration models seem effective and productive, a natural evolution from the previous means of collaboration such as the telephone or even email. Unfortunately it is often difficult for others to see the benefit of these technologies and instead view them as a passing trend, or an excuse to waste time.
As a project within Think Forward Work Backward, I will be publishing a document, not only detailing some of the tools that can be used for today’s collaboration, but also helping explain how we arrived at these tools, why they aren’t a threat to business but actually a productivity enhancer, and how they can be incrementally utilized to not only improve business, but to engage and motivate customers and employees.
In the spirit of collaboration however, I won’t be writing this document alone. I am engaging you, TFWB readers to help write it. It is through the collective experiences, wisdom, and insight of all of us that we will be able to adequately cover the topic, and thoroughly communicate the benefits and possibilities of today’s collaboration.
